Design
Connects Us

Design Vancouver Festival believes design connects us to place, to each other, and to what is possible.

Our vision is for a city and culture that is creative, collaborative, and connected through design. Our purpose is to grow public knowledge and appreciation of design, while strengthening a supportive design community across Vancouver. Our mission is to fill the city with accessible and inspiring opportunities to experience design up close, learn from the people behind the work, and celebrate the creativity shaping our everyday lives.

It’s all about shining the spotlight on the Vancouver design community, and engaging and celebrating all that we design and do with our larger city.

To meet, inspire, and get inspired. DVF is a citywide, community-driven festival featuring open studios, walking tours, talks, exhibitions, and gatherings hosted by Vancouver’s design community. We bring together designers across disciplines, design enthusiasts, students and emerging designers, and supporters of the creative sector. DVF is a platform for sharing work, exchanging ideas, and building new relationships across neighbourhoods and communities.

Design
Districts

In 2026, DVF is evolving toward a Design District model. Studios, showrooms, schools, and community partners are grouped by neighbourhood on dedicated days to make the festival more walkable, easier to plan, and more connected. Design Districts are designed to help participants uplift one another through shared visibility, shared attendance, and shared community energy.
