Celebrating
Creativity

Our vision is for a city and culture that is creative, collaborative and connected through design.

The purpose of Design Vancouver is to cultivate the public’s knowledge and appreciation of design, and our role in creating a supportive community.

Our mission is to fill the city with accessible and inspiring opportunities to interact with and learn about the power and value of design. It’s all about shining the spotlight on the Vancouver design community, and to engage and celebrate all that we design and do, with our larger city.

Festival

To meet, Inspire and get Inspired. 11 days; 40 events; 28 studios. Visitors will have the opportunity to visit design studios that are not normally open to the public, and for designers to open their doors to share their spaces, perspectives and practices. DV Festival aims to highlight the incredible talent within our city and create a platform for designers to share their work with a broader audience. By bringing together diverse voices and perspectives, DV Festival seeks to inspire and nurture creativity and innovation within Vancouver’s design community.

We are grateful for the Vancouver Design Week team’s support. We are going to carry on this beautiful community-driven design festival and bring together designers of all disciplines, design enthusiasts, and friends and patrons of the design community. Design Vancouver Festival is produced by Open Format Arts & Culture.

Forum

As part of Design Vancouver Festival, we launched the Design Vancouver Forum. Through this program, a series of keynotes are presented throughout the year.

Design Vancouver Forum is based on conversations about design and what design can do to affect change in communities. A place for creatives from all disciplines to share their insights and speak to how they are making a positive and transformative impact in our community, and for the audience to meet and connect with other like-minded people who are passionate about our community. This event aims to increase the public’s knowledge and appreciation of design, and to inspire people to act towards meaningful change of their own.
