When WALRUS opened its doors in 2009, the goal was simple, to share thoughtful design and support local creatives.

​Presented as part of Design Vancouver Festival's 2026 theme, BUILD, BUILT TOGETHER is a retrospective exhibition featuring eleven artists whose work has been part of the WALRUS story. Together, their practices reflect the creativity, generosity, and relationships that have shaped our shop over the years.

​The exhibition features new and selected works by each artist, all available for purchase, continuing the spirit of championing independent creative practice that has been at the heart of WALRUS for seventeen years.

​More than a look back, this exhibition is a celebration of the people who have helped build WALRUS, and everyone who has walked through our doors.
