Drawing from work in the Concept Lab, Tobias will explore how ideas move from early experimentation to application in built projects, including Williams College Museum of Art, PNE Amphitheatre, BCIT Student Housing, Harry Jerome Community Recreation Centre, Burnaby Pedestrian Bridge, and several public art works. The session highlights how building code can be rethought as a starting point, how open-source thinking can advance the industry, and how product and connection system innovations emerge from real construction challenges and opportunities.
The talk runs approximately 45 minutes and is followed by an open discussion, where guests are invited to ask questions, continue conversations with Tobias, and explore the Concept Lab. Visitors will also have the opportunity to see examples of ongoing testing and prototyping work firsthand.
