hcma designs buildings, brands, and shared experiences that maximize positive impact. Our mission is to help people thrive—in the built environment, and beyond.
At hcma, we start each project by asking, “Who is this for?” grounded in our conviction that human connections are essential for healthy, resilient communities.
Here in Vancouver, that conviction shows up in projects like Hillcrest Centre, laneway activations like Alley Oop, academic and student housing hubs at UBC, and Fire Hall 17. Our interdisciplinary team works across architecture, brand and digital, inclusive design, sustainability, placemaking, and wayfinding to drive better social and environmental outcomes, stewarded across generations.
Drop by our Open Studio and get to know our process and our people. Explore the space, meet the team, and learn how we develop design solutions that include, enable, and connect.
Come curious. Leave with new ideas about what design can be—and who it’s for.
Visiting our studio
Our Vancouver office sits on the corner of Granville and West Hastings. The step-free entrance has a power-door operator, and can be found on West Hastings to the right of the Royal Bank entrance. Buzz 400 next to our front entrance, before taking the elevator up to our office on Level 4.
Gender-designated washrooms with an accessible stall are located in the far-right corner of our space, down the corridor to the right of the kitchen. Individual accessible all-gender washrooms are located on the mezzanine level and require a fob. Our team will be happy to provide you with a fob upon request.
There is a designated drop-off zone on the north side of Hastings Street at the corner of Granville Street.
You can find more detailed accessibility information in our Access Guide.
