All are welcome at Ellipsis, inside the Waterfall Building, Arthur Erickson's last completed building in Vancouver, designed with Nick Milkovich in 1996.

For Design Vancouver Festival, SML Studio Architecture invites you to experience time differently. Not by the clock — but by light, by sound, by taste, and by scent. By the slow, deliberate burn of a cone.

Before there were clocks, there was incense. Historically, the burning of incense was not only a sacred ritual, it was also a precise instrument for measuring time. A single cone, lit and left to burn, told you everything you needed to know. Not in minutes. In presence.

At Ellipsis, the space does what it does best: making moments matter. The Studio adds a sensory layer - a custom incense cone for the first guests, scented to the West Coast palette; paired with a menu conceived for Design Vancouver.
Come for the aperitivo. Stay for the hour. Leave with the scent of the moment in your hands.

Drop in anytime between 10am and 4pm. The first 100 guests receive a complimentary souvenir while supplies last.
