World-Building Design Challenge for Youth. Ages 9–19.

This creative workshop invites young people to design an entire alternate version of their city in response to a single bold "disruptor." What happens if the internet suddenly disappeared? If sea levels rise six feet? If our city finally became truly resilient, equitable, and just?

Working in small interdisciplinary teams, participants pull together architecture, animation, sculpture, theatre, dance, and storytelling to detail a "core sample" of their invented world to investigate its systems, its culture, its people, its physical spaces. Teams will wrestle with real issues like climate action, homelessness, and reconciliation through creative exercises, hands-on making and storytelling.

The challenge culminates in a collaborative presentation — part performance, part exhibition — where each team brings their world to life through sculpture, sound, movement, visual art, or whatever medium they choose.

Along the way, participants learn how fiction can stimulate new thinking. They'll leave with new creative tools, new collaborators, and proof that true change comes from those brave enough to build it.

Workshop will run from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and will end with presentations open to families, friends and the general public.
No experience required — just imagination.
